About me!

Hi, I am Jo Robinson, a local Derby girl from Oakwood.

I began my legal career in 2002 when I joined the Wills & Probate team at Flint Bishop Solicitors. I had an amazing 16 years there, qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive and Commissioner for Oaths and was promoted to Associate in 2016.

In 2018 I moved to Timms Solicitors as Head of the Wills & Probate team, leading a team of 14 across four offices and subsequently became a partner in the firm in 2019. I also gained my independent probate practice rights. In 2022 my team won the 'Midlands Solicitors Firm of the Year' Award at the British Wills & Probate Awards, a definite highlight of my legal career.

In 2024 my husband and I decided to take some time out to travel around the UK canal system (a sort of grown up gap year), whilst we were both fit and able to do so. We had a fantastic time and I certainly learned many new skills! Whilst travelling I picked up a part time remote job as an Administration & Compliance officer for Premier Solicitors, which enabled me to 'keep my hand in'.

Now that we are back in bricks and mortar, I have decided to set up my own legal consultancy company so that I am free to act for my clients in my own time and in my own way. I am able to continue helping families without having to stick to a regular 9-5 routine and can pass on the benefits of reduced overheads in my fee structure.

Over the years I have helped hundreds of clients to protect their assets and wishes by making wills and powers of attorney and I have also had the privilege of guiding many bereaved families through the probate process.

Coming from and having a blended family gives me the edge over other private client lawyers as I am able to understand the many different family dynamics that exist in modern day times.

I have a loyal client following and am well known for my friendly, down to earth approach, as well as my rather different dress style!

I am strongly committed to providing an outstanding service to my clients and to building a long lasting relationship with them.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking and walking my dog Zak around the local woods.
